Starting to write this down

A short note on what this site is for, and what is going to be on it.

I’ve spent about six years on platform and infrastructure work, most of it in the position of owning the whole surface rather than one part of it. The interesting problem in that seat is almost never the technology. It’s deciding which of five defensible options to spend the next month on, with no specialist to hand the question to.

That’s what this site is going to be about. Not tutorials — there are enough of those, and the part that’s actually hard to find written down is the reasoning: why this and not that, what it cost when the call was wrong, and which of the constraints turned out to be load-bearing.

The first few pieces are drafted. They cover delegation and review when most of the code isn’t written by hand, and what changes about a platform when the thing you’re running it for is an AI pipeline rather than a web app.
